How to Beat Stormterror Dvalin

Break the Shield

Before you can do any damage to Dvalin, you'll have to destroy his shield first represented by the bar below his HP. Some of Dvalin's attacks will perch his on the platform that you're on, during this time you can attack the claws in order to destroy his shield.

Once the shield is broken, Dvalin will be stunned for a few seconds exposing the weakpoint on his neck.

Use Bow Characters

While Dvalin is flying you can also use bow characters to damage his shield, so you don't have to wait for him to go down.

Attacking the Weakpoint

When Dvalin's shield is broken, he will collapse on the platform for a few seconds giving you a chance to attack the weakpoint on his neck. If you have ranged characters you can just directly attack it.

If you only have melee characters, you will have to climb the neck in order to attack it.

Changing Platforms

When Dvalin's HP drops below half, he will do a special attack that will crack the platform that you're currently on, dealing damage to you every few seconds. The safest option is to move to the wind current to either side of the platform and glide to the next platform. You may need to move a number of platforms before you reach an undamaged one.

Shield and Heal before Attacking

Before Dvalin goes down, try to activate your heal and shields so that you can tank some extra damage while you finish off his shield.

Save your Bursts

You might want to save your Bursts and some of your Elemental Skills with long cooldowns for when Dvalin is stunned to attack his weakpoint for more damage.

Range is Best

Bow characters can snipe Dvalin even while he's in the air and they won't need to climb his neck in order to attack his weakpoint, saving some time and allowing you to deal more damage.

Ningguang's attacks and Burst can also hit Dvalin without having to climb on his neck.

Time Your Bursts

Saving up your bursts and activating it all at once while Dvalin is down can be really helpful to defeat Dvalin in one go.

Most of the attacks of the boss are more difficult to dodge the farther you are from the boss. Try to stay close to the boss if possible.

Avoid Using Anemo / Cryo Moves

Andrius is immune to Cryo and Anemo moves. Attacking it with moves would not deal damage.

Make Use Of Elemental Burst And Sprinting

After using Elemental Burst or sprinting, your character will not be affected by attacks for a second. Use them to dodge strong one hit attacks.
